wood screw noisy / squealing?
Ok.....i'm screwing 2 1/2" wood screws into pine wood with a cordless drill. When the screws are going in or out / fast or slow / predrilled or not / wet or dry / the screws squeal.
Yes... a squealing noise as the threads of the wood screws rub against the wood while in contact. It's a piercing noise.....sounds like i'm killing someone. lol.
I'm working in the garage downstairs and the wife can't take it anymore.
Any woodworking tips on how to stop a wood screw squealing while it is being drilled into the wood??

Do not use liquid soap, bar soap, oil of any kind, candle wax, spit, water.
do: Go to a lumber ward and get a small plug of carpenters wax, it's bees wax, or get a roll of plumbers toilet wax, it's soft and sticky and cheaper.
